Tunis — Morocco celebrated on Monday evening the 13th anniversary of Throne Day at its Embassy in Tunis. The ceremony was attended by Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki, Interim Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali and Constituent Assembly Speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar.

Morocco’s Ambassador in Tunis Najib Zerouali El Ouarti stressed on the occasion that “Morocco and Tunisia are determined to move from mere co-operation to close partnership, and to collaborate to establish the Arab Maghreb Union.”

In a tribute to Tunisia’s Revolution, the Ambassador affirmed that “Tunisia is readying to set up a new Republic within which citizens will live in Freedom and dignity.”

According to him, “the foundations of a balanced society will basically consist in pluralism, social cohesion, peace, tolerance, moderation.”

“Tunisia and Morocco are two model countries which materialise the principles of moderate Islam”, he declared, reminding that King Mohamed VI had undertaken thorough reforms to raise Morocco to the rank of democratic countries.
