HM King Mohammed VI Pardons 1,007 Convicts On Throne Day

Rabat – HM King Mohammed VI granted pardon to 1,007 convicts on the occasion of Throne Day, celebrated on July 30, the Justice and Liberties Ministry said in a statement.

Of the 1,007 convicts, 38 were pardoned on humanitarian grounds, the same source added.

Six inmates benefited from the pardon over their remaining prison term, while 790 others had their prison terms reduced.

Three prisoners had their life sentence commuted to a fixed-term sentence. Prison sentences were pardoned for 91 people.

Twenty-eight convicts had their imprisonment terms pardoned with fines maintained, while 10 had their imprisonment terms and fines annulled.

Fines were suspended for 79 people, the statement said.
