First 63-metre unit to be transported from new Tangier factory.

Siemens Gamesa has transported the first turbine blade made at its new factory in Morocco.

The 63-metre blade, which weighs 17 tonnes, is being moved from the facility in Tangier Automotive City free trade zone to the port at Tangier.

From the port, the blade will be shipped to its final destination, which Siemens Gamesa did not disclose.

The turbine manufacturer announced the opening of the factory in October.
