Rabat – Morocco’s “soft revolution” policy and the reforms undertaken in the Kingdom make this country a model for the region, said, Friday in Rabat, German deputy minister of economic cooperation and development, Hans Jurgen Beerfeltz.

Mr Beerfeltz stressed the importance of the policy advocated by Morocco in a context marked by the events that took place in other countries.

He insisted that “it is always better to move step by step rather than stumble in seeking to go too fast.”

The German official said, after a meeting with the Secretary-General of Morocco’s foreign ministry, Nasser Bourita, that the meeting is part of reinforcing the “excellent” relations between Morocco and Germany.

The meeting focused on a number of major projects, including the improvement of water and energy supply as well as other actions to provide assistance to small businesses and the population as a whole, he said.

For his part, Mr Bourita said German-Moroccan relations have grown susbtantially in recent years, recalling the meeting held in September 2010 between HM King Mohammed VI and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
