Rabat – Polling stations closed, on Friday at 19:00 GMT, in Morocco for the first parliamentary election after the adoption of the new Constitution last July.

Some 38,190 polling stations were set up around Morocco to enable the 13,475,435 Moroccans on the voting rolls (54.90% men and 45.10% women) to cast their votes.

The voters were to choose the 395 members of the House of Representatives (Lower House) for a 5-year term.

Some 305 MPs would be selected from local lists and 90 from national lists (60 women and 30 young people under 40).
