Morocco, US reaffirm commitment to strategic partnership

RABAT, April 4 (KUNA) — Morocco and the US reaffirmed on Friday commitment to the document on strategic partnership signed during King Mohammad VI to Washington in last November

The broad range of shared values constitute a firm ground for even closer cooperation in the framework of the strategic partnership between both countries, according to a joint statement issued following the visit of US Secretary of State John Kerry to Morocco.
The statement underscored the tangible measures adopted by Morocco to improve the investment atmosphere and capitalize on the geographic location of the country which could serve as a launch pad for US and European investment and commercial activities in North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa countries.
Both sides welcomed the signing of USD 38 million deal aiming to build the capacity of Moroccan youths and improve the country””s labor market, according to the statement.
They also commended the results of the just-ended second session of the Moroccan-US Strategic Dialogue and the second joint business forum geared to make better use of the bilateral free trade agreement.
Both countries affirmed commitment to security cooperation on the bilateral and multilateral levels, hailing the joint war games, codenamed “African Lion.” The exercise gathered troops from 18 countries and concluded earlier today.
Kerry has paid a two-day visit to Morocco to co-chair the second session of the Strategic Dialogue with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar.
The Secretary of State met King Mohammad VI at his Royal Palace in Casablanca before leaving the country. (pickup previous) adt.gb
