RABAT, (KUNA) — Morocco strongly condemned assassination of Tunisian opposition politician and leader of the Unified Democratic Nationalist party, Chokri Belaid, branding the deadly attack on the politician as a “terrorist and dangerous” act.
Morocco renewed its rejection of violence and political assassination from any source and affirmed its solidarity with the bereaved and the people of Tunisia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Morocco said in a statement, issued late on Wednesday.
Belaid was assassinated yesterday by a gunman in front of his house in the Tunisian capital.
He led an umbrella organization for several ultra left-wing groups and parties. His death resulted in some troubles throughout the country. (end) adt.ssj KUNA 071015 Feb 13NNNN
