Morocco – Meeting Between Jean-Marc Ayrault And His Colleague Salaheddine Mezouar

Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, will receive his Moroccan counterpart, Salaheddine Mezouar, this afternoon.

They will discuss the implementation of UNSCR 2285, which extends MINURSO’s mandate until April 3, 2017.

The two ministers will discuss key bilateral issues, as well as issues of common concern, especially the situation in Libya and Syria, and the French initiative regarding the Middle East peace process. This year, France and Morocco share the presidency of the “5+5 Dialogue,” a forum for cooperation which brings together ten Western Mediterranean countries.

Mr. Ayrault and Mr. Mezouar will discuss climate challenges. France and Morocco are strongly committed to implementing the Paris Agreement and to ensuring the success of the Moroccan presidency of the COP.
