Moroccan King eyes closer ties with GCC states

RABAT, July 30 (KUNA) — King Mohammad VI, of Morocco, affirmed on Monday commitment to strengthen the strategic partnership with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

“The partnership contributes effectively to Morocco’s sovereign funds and the economic development,” the king said in an address to the nation on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of his coronation.

“Both the Kingdom of Morocco and the GCC will continue promoting the Arab joint action and meeting the aspirations of our nation for effective solidarity.

“We share the commitment to build a bright future for the Arab nation, deepen cooperation further and serve the higher interests of our countries,” he added.

Meanwhile, the king urged his government to respond positively to the social aspirations of the Moroccans and tap into the potentials of youth in economic development.
