Moroccan int’l agriculture fair attracts many exhibitors, visitors

Morocco’s annual International Agriculture Fair wrapped up on Sunday in the northern city of Meknes, attracting a great number of visitors.

According to the commissioner of the fair Jaouad Chami, some 850,000 people have visited the fair since Tuesday.

A daily record of 32,000 people was registered on Saturday, Chami told the press at the closing of the fair.

Under the theme “Agriculture, Employment Level and Future of the Rural World,” the fair attracted 1,500 exhibitors from 60 countries with Switzerland as a guest of honor of this edition.

The fair covered an area of 185,000 square meters.

Since its inception in 2006, the International Agriculture Fair has been a crucial event for the Moroccan and African agriculture industry.

It has provided a precious opportunity to promote the transfer of latest technologies in the field of agriculture and to boost cooperation between stakeholders in the Mediterranean and African countries.
