Global payments and technology company MasterCard has appointed M2M SPS as its new principal member in Morocco, in a bid to boost the electronic payments acceptance infrastructure in the country.

M2M SPS customers will now be able to use MasterCard’s acquiring and issuing capabilities across several merchants and e-commerce channels, along with a group of value-added services, technical support, training, and new payment platforms.

In preparation to launch contactless payment technology, MasterCard is enhancing acceptance network and the recent collaboration will also boost its global payments system.

MasterCard north and French speaking Sub-Sahara Africa vice-president and regional manager Faissal Khdiri said that electronic payment is getting popular across the North Africa region, as more and more consumers are adopting cashless transactions in their daily activities.

The agreement will usher the growth of electronic transactions with modern technology and opens up new channels for merchants, which can drive new revenue streams for their businesses, Khdiri added.

MasterCard payments processing network connects consumers, financial institutions, merchants, governments and businesses in more than 210 countries and geographies.
