Rabat – Human Rights Adviser at Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Harriet Ware-Austin, commended Morocco’s large-scale reforms.

This came in a meeting, held recently in Rabat, with Interministerial Delegate for Human Rights Mahjoub El Haiba.

Ware-Austin also praised the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting human rights and expressed her satisfaction with regard to cooperation between Morocco and Great Britain, said Friday a statement of the Interministerial Delegation for Human Rights.

Mme Ware-Austin added that her visit to Morocco aims at enquiring about the country¹s constitutional and institutional reforms as well as the new initiatives undertaken in terms of promoting human rights and their prospects in order to present them to the British government.

For his part, El Haiba lauded relations between Morocco and Great Britain, highlighting the institutional reforms that were initiated to protect and promote human rights, notably the setting up of the National Council of Human Rights (CNDH), the Mediator Institution and the Interministerial Delegation for Human Rights.
