First edition of FIHA will focus on hotel investment and development in North and West Africa.

The inaugural FIHA event, or Forum de l’Investissement Hôtelier Africain, will be held in the Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi Marrakech, Morocco on Feb 7 and 8, 2019. We take a look inside what will happen over the course of the two-day event.

NORTH AND WEST AFRICA FOCUS

The Moroccan city of Marrakech will play host to the first FIHA, a two-day event organised by Bench Events as a sister conference of the Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF).

FIHA, however, will be focused on developments and opportunities in the regions of North and West Africa, uniting these regions under an investment umbrella to help promote tourism and development in the area.

The event will be run in conjunction with the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development – SMIT.

INDUSTRY LEADERS IN MARRAKECH

FIHA brings many of the biggest players in the investment and development game to Morocco to see what opportunities there are in store in the North and Western African regions.

Among the confirmed speakers include leading hospitality industry figures such as Olivier Granet, Chief Executive Officer at Kasada Capital Management; Othmane Jabri, VP M&A and Development for Kingdom Hotel Investments; and M’Hammed El Merini, General Director of Eagle Hills Morocco.

A series of interviews will be conducted throughout the day with key players in the industry such as Pierre-Frédéric Roulot, CEO, Jin Jiang Europe; and Samih Sawiris, Chairman, Orascom Development Holding.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

The FIHA conference is a high-level event, bringing together some of the biggest names in both local and international hotel operation, development and investment; and is a fantastic opportunity to meet and network with potential future business partners.

Those who are keen to be as prepared as possible in advance of the conference can take advantage of the online “Networking Live” forum, which allows participants to connect with each other before the event.

There will also be a number of networking receptions, where attendees will come together in a more informal manner to exchange information.
