Small Silver Mine in Morocco Makes First Pour

Maya Gold & Silver reports 2,900 tonnes material @ 105.5 g/t Ag processed so far as it ramps up Zgounder.

Maya Gold & Silver (TSXV: MYA) said it had poured silver at its Zgounder silver project in Morocco. The Canada-based junior, aiming to produce 85,000 ounces silver/month in 2014, said it had been in operation for 17 days.

In the ramp-up period, during which it tested its mill and processed some low-grade stockpiles, Maya Gold & Silver estimated recovery of 86 percent and that it had processed about 2,900 tonnes material @ 105.5 g/t Ag.

Guy Goulet, Maya Gold & Silver’s CEO said in a prepared statement that commissioning was going smoothly and that the it was “well on track to achieve commercial production in a nearest future.”

Zgounder, a past producing mine, has measured and indicated resources of 6 million silver @ 343 g/t Ag, according to Maya Gold & Silver.
