Morocco’s cereal production up 12% in 2010-11

Rabat – Cereal production in Morocco in the 2010-2011 agricultural campaign stood at 84 million quintals, up 12% on the previous campaign, the ministry of agriculture and fisheries has announced.

The production breaks down as follows: 18.5 million quintals of durum wheat, 41.7 million quintals of soft wheat and 23.4 million quintals of barley.

The campaign was marked by important rainfall, whose average rose by 43% compared with the usual average.
