Benkirane: Foreign Investments In Morocco Increased By $3.1 Billion During 2015

Morocco’s Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane has said that direct foreign investments in the country increased by $3.1 billion during the year of 2015.

In his response to questions asked by Morocco’s Members of Parliament yesterday, Benkirane said that the increase during 2015 reached $3.1 billion, while at the end of 2010, the foreign investment increased by $1.3 billion.

He praised the economic situation in the country, saying: “Despite the global economic challenges, the situation in the region, and the great competition amongst countries in attracting direct investments, Morocco is considered one of the top countries benefiting from investment opportunities in the region.”

He added that Morocco managed to attract 31 percent of the direct foreign investments in North Africa in 2014, compared to only 12 percent in 2010.
