BCP Group & Huawei Join Forces in Africa

Morocco’s BCP banking Group has partnered with Chinese telecom giant Huawei to provide various e-banking and mobile banking services to their clients in the African continent.

A cooperation agreement was inked on Thursday in Casablanca by Kamal Mokdad, BCP Director for international operations, and Cao Jibin, Huawei manager for North Africa.

BCP pledges to provide the Chinese telecom group banking services in Africa, while Huawei commits to help the Moroccan banking group speed up its digitalization process and modernize its app to offer innovative financial solutions to its customers.

“Through this strategic partnership, the BCP group will enhance its technological leadership by combining its financial expertise developed in the continent with the technological power of Huawei group in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data, and digital and mobility solutions”, said Kamal Mokdad.

For his part, Cao Jibin hailed the deal sealed with BCP, underlining the fruitful cooperation and mutual trust shared by the two groups. He said that Huawei will provide the Moroccan bank with cutting-edge know-how to enable it offer its African clients smart, easy, reliable and secure digital banking solutions.

BCP Group is one of largest banking groups operating in Africa. It is present in 17 African countries and 14 countries in Europe, while the Chinese company is the largest telecom equipment manufacturer in the world.
