5 Peruvians sentenced to 5 years in Morocco for cocaine trafficking

RABAT, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) — A court in Marrakech, the Moroccan resort, sentenced on Thursday five Peruvian nationals to 5 years in prison for possession of cocaine and international drug trafficking, the official news agency MAP reported.

The five culprits were arrested last October with 1.9 kg of cocaine, after one of them filed a complaint with a European air company for lost luggage.

He was arrested when he went to claim his suitcase which contained 1.33 kg of cocaine.

Investigators identified his accomplices, including one who was arrested in Marrakech and the others near Casablanca with 600 grams of cocaine.
